Burl-Oak Theatre Group members, from Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington and the surrounding communities, are of all ages from young adult to senior citizen, with many families included. We specialize in welcoming newcomers, so don't worry if you've never been involved in theatre before. We hadn't either until we first joined the group.
We produce three full-length plays each season at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts as part of the Oakville Drama Series: one each in fall, winter, and spring. We vary our productions, emphasizing quality in our work whether it is a British farce, a Broadway comedy, or a favourite traditional or modern classic. We are very proud of all the awards our shows have won through the years.
If you are looking for a hobby or pastime that will keep your mind and body active, where you will meet lots of bright and interesting people, where you can learn new and useful skills or use the ones you already have, why not become a member of the group?
As a member you will receive a monthly newsletter containing upcoming events, audition notices, performing arts notices from the Association of Community Theatres in Central Ontario, requests for help on a production, as well as opportunities to participate in workshops and social events.
